Please join us on zoom (link available via email) from 7-7:40pm MT every other Wednesday night: W Aug 11 (tomorrow!), W Aug 25, etc. All are welcome! We’ll talk about outreach to state legislators and the latest news from our outreach work as we prepare to qualify for the Nov 2024 ballot by filing on about W Jan 11, 2023, and then collecting signatures from about Feb 27 – Nov 27, 2023. (Mark your calendars!)
3 ways you can help: We’re continuing to expand our network by door-knocking houses with solar panels in Tooele, with Brigham City and other locales on the horizon. You can help by using Google Maps to identify houses with solar panels, by joining an experienced partner to do some door-knocking, and/or by showing some love for your fellow volunteers by making a donation that can help pay for lunch, door-hangers (coming soon!), etc. Here’s donation information, and if you want to donate something different—thanks for the tickets to the jazz concert, Bob!—just let us know.
In the news: The latest IPCC report (Climate Change 2021: The Physical Science Basis) was released yesterday; here’s the Summary for Policymakers. And, as if anybody needs a reminder of the lousy local air quality we’ve been having along the Wasatch Front, here’s a headline from last week’s Salt Lake Tribune: “Salt Lake has the worst air in the world as wildfire smoke moves in”.
