Hello clean-air-and-climate friends: Please join us on Zoom (link available via email) from 7-7:40pm MT every other Wednesday night: W Apr 5, W Apr 19, etc. All are welcome to a discussion of our campaign and our progress in qualifying for the Nov 2024 ballot by collecting 135,000 signatures from F Feb 17 to W Nov 22, 2023!

Signature-gathering opportunities: Check out the Guide to Gathering Signatures and this 2-pager with instructions for signature gatherers, and then click on the links below for event calendars; experienced volunteers have added their names and contact info in red to events they’re going to be at, so reach out to them if you want to join them! (Or try to add a Comment on the calendar, or email us at info@DarnAir.org.) No experience necessary, we will provide training and materials!

  • North of SLC: We’ve got a group of great USU students collecting signatures inside the Student Union building. (Email us at info@DarnAir.org if you want to join them; classes go through T Apr 25.) And one of the students we met, Nicholas Gleed, will be doing a summer campaign internship through the USU Institute of Government and Politics. (It’s not too late for others to sign up and get course credit for working on the campaign!) And we’re tentatively planning to be at Weber State on Th Apr 20 (classes end M Apr 24).
  • South of Provo: Utah Tech has classes through W Apr 26 and SUU in Cedar City has classes through F Apr 21, plus the Washington County Fair is Apr 14-22. We will be at the county fair parade kick-off on T evening Apr 18 and on campus at SUU on Apr 19-20, plus at the Springdale Earth Fest Apr 29-30; email us at info@DarnAir.org if you want to join!
  • West side, SLC to Provo: Help out at UVU and other east side events!
  • East side, SLC to Provo: We can gather (indoors!) at UVU through the end of classes W Apr 26 and (outdoors) at the U of U through T Apr 25. We are planning a signature-gathering push on campus on W April 12 and Th April 13 (connected to the Sustainability Fair); JJ is leading the charge so email jj@DarnAir.org if you want to help out W-Th Apr 12-13 at the U of U!

Purchasing power: We have the materials that we need for now, but in the weeks ahead we will need to order more of our awesome stickers, so please consider a donation to help us buy more stickers!

In the news: Rocky Mountain Power is now planning to close its Utah coal plants by 2032, according to the Tribune.

Tales from the Trails: Here are some photos of signature-gathering at the Festival of Colors in Spanish Fork last month. (Dennis, Casey, and half of JJ are in the first photo, yours truly in the second.)
