Please join us on Zoom (link available via email) from 7-7:40pm MT every other Wednesday night: W Oct 19, W Nov 2, etc. All are welcome! We’ll talk about the Four P’s—Policy, Plan, Purchasing Power, and People—as we prepare to qualify for the Nov 2024 ballot by collecting signatures from F Feb 17 to W Nov 22, 2023. (Mark your calendars, and follow the previous link if you’re new to the campaign and want to get caught up!)

Plan: We now have basic versions of signature-gathering events calendars for 4 areas: north of SLC, south of Provo, west side SLC to Provo, and east side SLC to Provo. Note that we will delete weeks as they go by next year (so that upcoming weeks are always at the top of the list), and that you should be able to comment on the document, for example add a note to say that you’ll be going to event XYZ. Feedback is welcome!

People: We’re thrilled to announce support three new Friends of the Campaign: Great Old Broads for Wilderness, Peaceful Uprising, and The Front Climbing Club. Other Friends of the Campaign include the Mormon Environmental Stewardship Alliance (MESA), Utah Physicians for a Health Environment (UPHE), Running Up for Air, Elders Rising for Intergenerational Justice, and IME Utah. Thanks to Dave Carrier for leading up this outreach effort, and please help us get other Friends!

Policy: We met last week with Rep. Joel Briscoe and are meeting with him again this week, so stay tuned for more news on this front!

Legislative endorsements: We’ve been endorsing candidates in competitive races, so please support the following air quality champions we’ve endorsed: Katie Olson, the Democratic candidate for House District 48 (South Jordan, Herriman, Riverton); Steve Handy, the Republican incumbent in House District 16 (Layton area) who is running a write-in campaign because the Republican caucus system chose a different candidate; Patrick Belmont, the Democratic candidate for House District 3 (Logan area—he’s requesting your endorsement here, no matter where in Utah you live); and Nate Blouin, the Democratic candidate for Senate District 13 (South Salt Lake area). For other endorsements of environmental champions, see O2 Utah.

In the news: Check out the Utah Public Radio story about the campaign, featuring campaign strategists Casey Hansenand Jack Podolsky!
