Hello clean-air-and-climate friends: Please join us on Zoom (link available via email) from 7-7:40pm MT every other Wednesday night: W Nov 16, W Nov 30, etc. All are welcome! We’ll talk about the Four P’s—Policy, Plan, Purchasing Power, and People—as we prepare to qualify for the Nov 2024 ballot by collecting signatures from F Feb 17 to W Nov 22, 2023. (Mark your calendars, and follow the previous link if you’re new to the campaign and want to get caught up!)

Election results: Utah experienced the “red wave” that missed much of the rest of the country, but Nate Blouin still won a state Senate seat and will be representing South Salt Lake! Congratulations to Nate and our thanks to him and to all of the candidates who contributed to our democracy and helped to raise the profile of clean air and climate issues, including Katie Olson in Herriman, Steve Handy in Layton, Patrick Belmont in Logan, Davina Smith in southeast Utah, Clare Collard in Magna, and U.S. Senate candidate Becky Edwards. Bottom line: Utah is a red state—like roughly half of the country—and that makes it all the more important to try to advance clean air and climate policies that can make sense to voters across the political spectrum.

Purchasing Power: We were able to take advantage of Stickerobot‘s 50% bonus deal, so an order of stickers should arrive in a couple of weeks. It’s not too late to make a donation to get some stickers hot off the presses!

People: We are adding to our website (1) a list of individuals who support the campaign and (2) a list of individuals who are pledging to collect signatures between February and November, 2023. (Assume 20 signatures per hour, so with a bit more than 2 hours a week you can reach 1000 signatures! A lower target is fine, too, and of course so is a higher one: note that in our effort to make the 2020 ballot three volunteers collected about 5,000 signatures each.) To support the campaign and/or pledge to collect signatures, please reply to this email or add your name in the comments section of this blog post.
