  • SLC, Th Aug 15: Anniversary day at Natural Grocer. They have vendor booths and sales &c on their anniversary day, and they’ve said they usually get about double their normal customer volume on this day. Apparently there’s a company policy that we can’t collect signatures on their property (boo!) but some of their locations are near sidewalks or other places where we should be able to collect signatures, and it might be worth just trying to walk through their parking lot to see if they’ll kick us out. They have 8 Utah locations: the South Jordan store looks especially friendly in terms of having a sidewalk nearby. The Logan store is in a mall right next to Al’s Sporting Goods, which we’ve been told is friendly to canvassers; the St George store is also in a mall where you might (?) be able to gather signatures in the parking lot. The two SLC locations are probably not worth targeting because we have lots of signatures from those districts. The stores in Bountiful, Heber City, and Ogden are all stand-alone locations that might be worth trying. Note that the Heber City store is in the Park City – to Vernal District 26.
