Hello clean-air-and-climate friends:

Thursday Thursday Thursday (Pod Save America and more!): Signature-gathering will be a blast tomorrow (Thursday) night: a sold-out show by Seal at Red Butte Outdoor Concerts (join Yoram and Drew at or after 5pm, gates open 6:30pm, finish after the show starts at 7:30pm), plus Obama-loving podcast Pod Save America is on tour at the Eccles Theater in downtown SLC (join Dave at 7pm, finish after the show starts at 8pm). There’s also a Bees baseball game (show up at 6:30pm, finish 30 minutes after the game starts at 7:05pm), the Flaming Lips are playing at the Ogden Twilight Concert Series (show up at or after doors open at 5pm, headliner is at 8pm) and there are Farmers Markets in Bountiful and Moab. If you haven’t done any signature gathering yet or don’t have materials then just email us at info@DarnAir.org and we’ll get you an experienced partner and/or all the materials you need! There are lots of other events coming up, so see the events list and email your chapter leader and/or  info@DarnAir.org if you can help, e.g.,  the Salt Lake Bees are playing every day through July 25, farmers markets are in full swing, there are Friday and Saturday soccer games (Royals and RSL) at Rio Tinto stadium in Sandy, there’s concerts and comedy on Friday night in downtown SLC, and much more. (And PS a shout-out for all their hard work to Tim in Ogden, Charles and Brad and compatriots in Logan, and Sam Delgado in West Valley City!)

250 Club: Congratulations to Colleen Farmer and Bob Cieri for each turning in packets containing a total of over 250 signatures, making them the inaugural members of the 250 Club! Members of the 250 Club get public recognition for their amazing work, plus signed copies of any or all of my cartoon books, and we’re also working on other fabulous prizes. (T-shirts? Hats? Homemade pies?? Email us at info@DarnAir.org with your suggestions!) A handful of other folks are also at or near the 250 mark, so stay tuned for more updates, and email us at info@DarnAir.org if you want to join the club and are looking to get started or if you’re already started but want to do more!

Emissionaries: The first participants in our emissionaries program are out gathering signatures! We currently have a few more emissionary sponsors than emissionaries, so if you want to gather 1000 valid signatures for $500 then just email us at info@DarnAir.org. (And if you want to be an emissionary sponsor all you have to do is donate $500.) Plus we’re setting up chapters in colleges around the state, starting with UVU (chapter lead is Taylor Steed, taylor@DarnAir.org) and BYU (chapter lead is Jeffrey Dosdall, jeffrey@DarnAir.org).

Don’t want to collect signatures or donate? We’re focused on gathering the darn signatures and on fundraising so we can gather the darn signatures, but if you’re not into either of those things then here are three other options: (1) Social media: Please follow @CleanTheDarnAir on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and if you’re a savvy young person who wants to help with our social media presence then please email bob@DarnAir.org. (2) Put up a yard sign and tell your friends to join our campaign. (3) We are experimenting with tucking a a one-page flyer under doormats of homes with solar panels or other evidence of environmentally-minded residents, so if you want to walk or bike around your neighborhood and help with this experimental outreach then email info@DarnAir.org and we’ll get you started!
