Hello clean-air-and-climate friends:

Halloween “do or die”: We’ve submitted over 28,000 signatures (!) and the latest info from the state (which has a lag of up to 30 days because of the time it takes to validate signatures) shows that they’ve validated over 20,000 signatures, but we need to do more in order to hit 1,000 signatures a day by the end of the month. As we posted two weeks ago, we need to hit 1,000 signatures a day in order to continue beyond October. The good news is that there are lots of great signature-gathering events coming up, including events all over the state on Saturday—football games at USU, Weber State, U of U, BYU, and SUU; an RSL [men’s soccer] playoff game in Sandy; and the Margarita and Taco Fest at the Gateway—plus Bob Inglis of RepublicEn.org speaking Oct 22-24 in Vernal, Provo, Ogden, and Logan, and the Utah Jazz home opener on Wednesday 10/23, so show up or sign up by emailing info@DarnAir.org. As always, we can get you all the training and materials you need!

Help keep track of the 30-day deadline for signature packets: According to the state’s rules, each signature must be dated and each packet must be submitted within 30 days of the first signature (e.g., Nov 4 if the first signature date is October 5). We’re doing our best to stay on top of it all, but you can help by keeping an eye on the first signature date in your packet(s) and emailing us if the 30-day window is approach. Thank you!

250 Club update: Congrats to Hillary Craig, Jack GreeneTim Woodruff, and the SOSNR team at USU for joining the 250 Club (250+ signatures), to Charles Ashurst for joining the 1000 Club, and to Colleen Farmer for gathering over 1000 signatures in one week and joining the 4000 Club!

It’s do or die by Halloween… so let’s do it!
